Idol’s Budget Premium PC
With its multi-core processor, responsive memory, and a Solid State Drive (SSD) as the system drive, the * Idol’s Budget Premium PC * is up there with the some of the best, and it’s only just behind the cutting edge as far as technology goes. You’ll love the quick and snappy response from this little box of excellence that will do what you want it to do when you ask it to; rather than when it’s had time to respond, as many older machines do.
Not only is the machine good company as far as recent technologies are concerned; it’s also comparatively small in stature, light in weight, and great on green credentials. – You’ll probably have a job to even notice a difference in your normal electricity usage. Since it’s designed to use very little energy, you can be sure that you’re not running up huge electricity bills when you’re using it. – With the rising cost of energy in today’s economic climate, that’s the last thing you want to happen; but don’t worry; * Idol’s Budget Premium PC * isn’t going to noticeably increase your energy consumption with average usage.
* Idol’s Budget Premium PC * comes with a complimentary USB wifi dongle that customers can simply plug into one of the many USB2 or USB3 ports and instantly become wi-fi enabled when running Windows 10. (Other versions of Windows and also Linux may require extra settings if you’re using those operating systems.)
The default model of Idol’s Budget Premium PC is fast-working and an excellent choice for a small PC for use as a simple home computer or workstation. – Its design may be subject to some variation of the component brands, due to component availability, over time; but Sharron will always strive to keep it as the best-value simple yet effective PC on the market.
Midsummer Is A Great Time To Purchase * Idol’s Budget Premium PC *
Because for a limited period, subject to market factors, the cost of an * Idol’s Budget Premium PC * is coming down.
From Midsummer’s Day; 21st June 2018, until further notice, the price of * Idol’s Budget Premium PC * is dropping by just over 10% to £267.00.
Just think about that a minute: For that price + delivery ( Delivery is usually less than £20.00) you get a fully-built computer with a 4-core AMD processor with 500MB on-chip graphics, 8 (eight) gigabytes of RAM, and a solid-state drive. – In other words a really fast little computer that will excel at all general computing, will serve you well, will probably last a bit longer than you’d expect, and has amazing green cred.
Don’t Confuse Quality And Compromise
- Sharron gives you a real quality PC with a Gigabyte motherboard and its own standard AC mains electrical ‘kettle-lead’ input. – Its own onboard power supply unit.
- Well-known manufacturer HP compromises on design quality. – They have a similarly-priced unit which they were selling as a PC in America around about 2014 – the HP 110-210 – and which they may also be selling in the UK, which has an external power-brick connecting to a low-voltage power-connector at the rear of the case. This low-voltage power-connector supplies a cheap proprietary laptop motherboard inside a PC case.
HP’s ‘laptop-in-a-desktop-PC’s-clothing’ is similarly-priced to Idol’s Budget Premium PC; yet it gives less performance – because it’s not really even a desktop PC.
Idol’s Budget Premium PC has more peripheral-ports than the HP 110-210, Idol’s Budget Premium PC has better-quality audio than the HP 110-210, Idol’s Budget Premium PC has more memory than the HP 110-210 and is memory-upgradeable in terms of memory-amount. Idol’s Budget Premium PC has gigabit ethernet. Idol’s Budget Premium PC has a solid-state-boot-drive; allowing the operating-system to run much faster.
Idol’s Budget Premium PC has more power – literally: The onboard power-supply delivers the necessary amount power to the individual components as required; rather than operating on a fixed amperage supplied at a given point by an external power-supply-unit, as with the HP 110-210. With Idol’s Budget Premium PC; when a component requires extra power it gets it direct from its individual power-line straight from the internal power-supply-unit.How can Sharron create and construct a PC that’s far better than HP’s attempt at an equivalent device, despite their being a long-established computer-manufacturer? The answer to that is the fact that Sharron puts quality before profit and customer satisfaction before sales-volume. Sharron’s objective is to produce a desktop machine that is easily-affordable yet provides its user with the maximum experience possible, bearing in mind the low price charged. HP, on the other hand, have one thing on their mind: Profit. They give the customer the minimum that they can get away with, and have the attitude of “What did you expect for such a low price?”.
Sharron’s attitude is: “You paid for a desktop computer, and a desktop computer you shall have. I can’t give you cutting edge excellence or top-of-the-range-performance at this price; but I’ll give you as near to it as I can.”.
Idol’s Budget Premium PC: Maximum Quality & Value-For-Money. – Minimum Compromise.
Sharron has already tested & benchmarked the prototype build, but she decided she’d make things a little more public: –
On that note, she had the prototype build of * Idol’s Budget Premium PC * running all night, while at the same time running a full virus scan using Rogue Killer, as well as backing up to an external mapped drive, at the same time as displaying Kaspersky Cyberthreat Real-Time Map in the Pale Moon browser, while at the same time running CPUID HWmonitor. – All of that while online with malware protection by Kaspersky.
Despite all this, during the test, the APU didn’t at any point got any hotter than 50^C (122^F), The Toshiba hybrid drive that is fitted to this prototype only (Future customer-builds get a solid state drive instead.) remained below 30^C, and of the 8 GBs of RAM fitted was only a maximum of 57% used; that’s just under 5 gigabytes utilised – leaving 3GBs clear.
An Excellent Little Machine
This machine is perfect for general computing jobs, it generates a lot less heat than most other 4-cored machines, it uses much less electricity… And Sharron will build one exactly like the one I’m using except for a solid-state drive, which will make it faster still, for you – if you live in the UK – for only £267 + delivery: In other words around £285 or less. – And Sharron will throw in a free wifi-dongle too.
Monitor and other peripherals such as keyboard, mouse, etc, not included. Operating system also not included in the £267 price. You can buy a fully legit Windows operating system, plus basic peripherals, for under £190. You may prefer to install a free Linux distro instead of Windows?
So for around about £470 all-in investment ( Of which Idol Computers gets just the £267 cost of the computer + the cost of delivery which is paid to the delivery company.- You buy peripherals from a third-party, and Windows 10 from Microsoft.) you can have this amazing value machine connected with peripherals and running the latest version of Windows. – OR, if you choose to install a free Linux distro, and you already have peripherals from your old computer, then the maximum you’re looking at is £267.00 for the computer + around £15 for delivery.

Componentry that is extra to the specified components can indeed be added to any individual build at the customer’s discretion; but the price will vary, possibly considerably from those prices stated, under such circumstances.
* Normally when requesting one of Sharron’s computers, the customer purchases the components in their name, and has said components sent directly to Sharron’s specified delivery address: That way the customer remains more in-control and said components are warrantied directly by the components’ manufacturers’ warranty. – That way, even if anything happens to Sharron or to Idol Computers; the customer is covered and can retain peace-of-mind.
– That’s what usually happens after discussion between Sharron and the customer on which components will be used. However in the case of this style of machines there’s very little choice of components from the customer if the customer wants to maintain the low price and extreme value from Sharron’s choice of components.
Sharron welcomes discussion in relation to alternative components to be used in this build – but reminds customers that deviating from the pre-arranged and recommended components may increase the cost of the overall build.
* When Sharron orders the components herself; they usually arrive within 7 days of ordering. In a worst-case scenario this can take up to 10 days due to late delivery or component stock shortage. – However this is a rare occurrence.

then ask Sharron to build you a different machine.
Although Idol’s Budget Premium PC isn’t exceptional on graphics performance; it’s still actually not all that bad: –
The machines’ Open-GL graphics performance was recently tested using the website fishgl dot com. Although the machine’s 500MB of graphics could only manage a frame-rate of 19FPS with 20 fish in the tank; it nevertheless managed to produce 12 FPS with 100 fish, and even managed 7 FPS with the full contingent of 350 fish swimming around. – Hooray for basic AMD Radeon graphics! – This machine’s not so much of a graphics-wuss after all.

Normally, Sharron supplies these machines without an operating system: It’s norm ally up to the customer to install their own operating system. Sometimes she’ll supply a computer with an unactivated Windows installation on it; but the price doesn’t include the operating system. – Even free Linux takes time & patience to install – so even a Linux install which will cost the customer nothing financially to install would cost an hour’s labour extra if Sharron were to install it.
Sharron doesn’t want to get involved with Linux; but for £115.00 additional fee she will install Windows 10 Home for you before shipping the computer, or will supply it for you to install for £92. – OR – Sharron will install Windows 10 Professional for £150.00 additional fee – or supply it for £130, for you to install, prior to shipping. These prices cover the cost of buying the operating system, plus installation in the customers’ name.
You’ll get your unique Windows 10 key code sticker affixed to the computer, along with a sticker indicating the month and year when the computer was built.
Sharron not only builds & sells computers. – Sharron-Idol is also an entertainer: A singer/songwriter/producer with her own recording label: * Ice Recordings *. She’s produced remixes from artists such as Aria Taylor and Becky Hill on this label, as well as recording well over 100 of her own tracks that she wrote & composed totally herself.
* Idol’s Budget Premium PC * Is A Part of the Furniture
Sharron’s made * Idol’s Budget Premium PC * a part of the furniture. It works the same as any other quad-core PC with 8 gigabytes of RAM… And even though her prototype has a hybrid drive rather than the solid-state drive that all other models of * Idol’s Budget Premium PC * are built with, it’s still faster than the machines she’s used to using.
Not A Run-Of-The Mill Quad-Core PC
The differences between * Idol’s Budget Premium PC * and a run-of-the-mill 4-core PC are… Well there’s a negative and a positive – a number of positives – in all honesty.
The negative is that the graphics are maybe not as powerful as you might find on a run-of-the-mill quad-core PC, and they can’t be easily upgraded without a lot of cost… But for under £300 for the machine without an operating system you really can’t expect everything to be top-of-the-range. Don’t take that the wrong way; the graphics are fine, unless you’re intent on gaming at X-frames-per-second. * Idol’s Budget Premium PC * isn’t a gaming-rig, and it can’t be easily converted into one.
The positives are numerous: It’s quite a speedy little machine, and it can be built for storage. Sharron can put around 12 terabytes of storage-space on a second internal hard-drive, additional to the solid-state-boot-drive. (Extra components add to the cost.) – And/or it can be built for sound. If you want 7.1 surround-sound Sharron can just install an extra module. The default 5.1 surround-sound is great as standard. Sharron’s using it on the existing sound-system that the old machine that it replaced was using: The audio is crystal-clear, whether or not you use USB sound via an external or fitted sound card.
It has a number of USB 3 ports on the back panel, as well as many USB2 ports on the back and on the top along with extra audio jacks.
It makes a perfect workstation, and it uses very little electricity: About 40 Watts maximum. – How’s that for green credentials?!
In truth, Sharron can’t believe she’s created something so good for such little cost. She’ll build one for you too if you like.
If This Were A Run-Of-The Mill Quad-Core PC…
If this were a normal standard run-of-the mill quad-core PC, using, say, a Ryzen 3 as the CPU with 8 gigabytes of RAM – and costing between £500UKP and £800UKP – then you’d expect to be able to install and use Microsoft Office 365, and you’d also expect to be able to stream Harry Potter & The Goblet of Fire in its entirety at 480p… OK admittedly Sharron did have to drop the resolution to 360p half way through as the stream did start to fragment a bit: The audio was breaking up in places and the picture froze briefly at times until she dropped to 360p… But I mean come on: The on-chip graphics engine uses around 500MB of the 8 gigabytes RAM fitted to produce the picture. A few years back a 500MB graphics card was cutting-edge. OK ten + years ago a 500MB graphics card was cutting-edge… But when you’re getting on a bit like Sharron is that’s like yesterday.
Sharron honestly didn’t think this little machine could do it – but it proved wrong. – And the maximum temperature that anything has reached during both events is 57^C: That was the processor.
* Idol’s Budget Premium PC * has no case-fans. It has a reasonably-sized CPU-fan, and a PSU-fan that drags air from inside the case to cool the PSU, and blows it out the back. It’s not totally silent; but it’s far from noisy.
During streaming Harry Potter from You Tube on Firefox browser (At the same time as running HW Monitor) the 8 GBs of RAM came into its own and 92% of the total (About 7.3 GB) was used at 1 point.
So here’s what Sharron’s done on her prototype-build of * Idol’s Budget Premium PC * so far to test its performance: She benchmarked everything, she’s run numerous programs at once, including an antimalware scan at the same time as other fairly intensive work. She’s left it on for extended periods at times while doing so, in order that she can measure the temperatures. She used it as her main computer – doing all the work that she normally does on another computer on it. + as stated above she’s installed and used Microsoft Office 365, and streamed a movie from You Tube at high-resolution.
The result of all this: It’s passed every test. It can do everything that an Intel i3-powered-machine can do. – Maybe it can even do most of what an Intel i5-powered-machine can do. (Yes even the new i3 and i5.) – But that’s because it uses AMD technology. This board; the very same motherboard with the identical processor and very similar RAM that are used inside * Idol’s Budget Premium PC *, are also used in mission-critical systems.
According to Wikipedia: “A mission critical …system … is … essential to business operation or to an organization. Failure or disruption of mission critical factors will result in serious impact on business operations or upon an organization, and even can cause social turmoil and catastrophes.”
That’s why Sharron chose the Gigabyte motherboard that she incorporated into the * Idol’s Budget Premium PC * design, and it has proved itself.
This Isn’t A Run-Of-The Mill Quad-Core PC – But It’s As Good As.
But you see the thing is that this isn’t a normal standard run-of-the mill quad-core PC, using, say, a Ryzen 3 as the CPU … – and costing between £500UKP and £800UKP. This is a great little all-purpose PC using an AMD A4/6 quad-core CPU and costing less than £400UKP if you include the cost of a Windows 10 operating system at retail price…
… And Sharron will build one specially for you if you like.
Sharron only currently maintains the computers that she sells under warranty. There are other experienced technicians out there.
Only someone who will put their name and reputation behind any work they do for you, or indeed anything they build for you, is a professional technician. – Anyone else is a tech enthusiast, probably without qualification or experience; or simply a bullshitter.
